Course Description: This CEU training provides a comprehensive overview of trauma-informed care, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to support individuals who have experienced trauma. The course begins with an exploration of trauma, including the differences between acute, chronic, and complex trauma, as well as the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) on long-term health and well-being. Participants will learn to apply the Four R’s of trauma-informed care—Realize, Recognize, Respond, and Resist Re-traumatization—to create safe, welcoming, and supportive environments for clients.

The training also highlights key concepts such as the Pillars of Wellbeing and the Social Determinants of Health, helping students understand how systemic and environmental factors shape trauma and recovery. Through interactive activities, real-world scenarios, and case study analysis, participants will practice applying trauma-informed principles to assess client needs and foster trust. By the end of the training, students will be able to confidently integrate trauma-informed practices into their work, ensuring a compassionate and holistic approach to client care.
