Working with Patients with Co-Occurring Disorders

Objective: Students will understand the relationship between mental health and substance use disorders (SUD), learn assessment, treatment, and ethical considerations, and explore evidence-based interventions. and case management strategies for co-occurring disorders.
Course Description: This 2-hour CEU course covers the identification, assessment, and treatment of co-occurring disorders. Students will learn about the common diagnoses, screening tools, and integrated treatment models while addressing ethical considerations and confidentiality challenges. Through videos lectures and case studies will develop practical skills for supporting individuals with dual diagnosis.
